Nayantara has handled a much matured character for the movie Vallavan with Simbu playing the lead role. Simbu has done the direction for the movie with the additional task of handling the story and screenplay of the movie. She plays the role of a college professor who falls in a love with a student without the knowledge that he is a student. When things are arranged for the wedding between the two, things turn against Simbu as Nayantara comes to know that he is a student. In the flashback appears Reema Sen as a very ferocious lady in love with Simbu and ready to any extent to get him. Reema Sen plays the right game to separate the pair and also Simbu handles the situation in the right manner. Simbu manages Reema Sen and how he unites with Nayantara is the rest of the story. He expresses the true mood only to his true friend, the role played by Sandya.
